Baltimore @ Denver Betting: Expect these two top defences to be on top in divisional round match


The divisional round of the NFL playoffs begins at Mile High Stadium in Denver on Saturday night when the Denver Broncos, the number one seeds in the AFC, host the Baltimore Ravens in a high profile match. Denver Broncos were one of the most impressive sides at the end of the regular season and they will be hoping that they haven’t lost their form in the week off that they’ve had.

The Broncos go into this match as the 1/4 favourites with Paddy Power Under Peyton Manning the Broncos look a real good side. Their defence was always in good shape but Peyton has brought a solidity to the offense and made that side of the ball a lot more reliable. The Broncos have won their last 11 matches so their confidence could hardly be any higher and one of those wins was in Baltimore a few weeks ago.

Ray Lewis’ return seemed to inspire the Ravens last week and the whole of Baltimore will be hoping he can do that again here. If he raises Baltimore’s defence to perform to its best then they will have every chance here although their offense is known for not being as potent on the road as it is at home and that’s something that will need to be overcome here. Should Baltimore lose here the game will lose a legend as Ray Lewis retires after these playoffs.

The outcome of this match is likely to come down to whether the Ravens offense can fire on the road against a very tough defence. If they can then they could well win this match but that remains to be seen. I think this will be a real tough game where the defences are on top. This is playoff football. It’s all on the line for both sides and that will inspire the best of both defences, defences which are among the best in the league anyway so I like the look of under 46pts here.
